Hip Hop is a tool for the mass, it was a voice of a generation, in which no one was listening at. Listen to songs like “The MESSAGE” from back in the day to ONYX to David Banner… So we didn’t listen to youth’s voice…
It’s sad that the nation is basically not looking for an answer to problems of today’s youth. Instead, it’s the same problems before the Civil Wars, we see things are not right… but it’s a boiling point when in a society divided by race, money and age can pop. America looks like a volcano ready to erupt and we see the smoke, hot ash and magma is ooze out everywhere
The more we keep allowing our youth to feel unneeded, unwanted and mostly unseen. They will be unrest in more cities…
Times have change, the youth of today are social media professionals, meaning they can build a following overnight, with digital media.
The gangs problems are going away slowly, now you have teams of gangs, not killing each other… but wanting to protect the communities from police and how they are being policed. Now their street training isn’t going to be used to kill each other, but to change the system in US.
We are seeing the police have a code… Shield n Badge
Let be real, every job in US has a code of conduct, but you have clicks and friends, who are sometimes, mean girls, bullies, Christians and etc… Same thing in government, police and Armed Forces
We must use hip hop again as a voice of the times, another power movement fueled with beats and words!!!
